2010 MUSIC LICENSING APPLICATION - 12/09
FDSA is
pleased to offer music licensing as a benefit to our members through
our partnership in the Music License Coalition. FDSA members can
become fully licensed with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC for 2010 for the

COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICES ASSUME DEATH CERTIFICATE FILING DUTIES

Effective August 14, 2009, the Cook County
Clerk's office will assume the City of Chicago death certificate

ILLINOIS FISCAL YEAR 2010 FUNDING FOR FUNERAL AND BURIAL BENEFITS
- 8/09
The Illinois General Assembly and
Governor Quinn approved a budget for Fiscal Year 2010 that
appropriates $12,581,200 for Funeral and Burial Payments for those
deceased that meet the state's eligibility requirements. Special
thanks to all those FDSA members who contacted their
local representatives in support of this endeavor. For a copy

ELECTRONIC DEATH CERTIFICATE AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS - 1/08
The new EDRS Certificate of Death
for the state of Illinois is now available on the FDSA website in
the Members Only section. Members of the association can
access it by clicking
here.
"SMOKE
FREE ILLINOIS ACT" AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS - 1/08
The "Smoke Free Illinois
Act" can impact all funeral homes in Illinois. A copy of
the act is available to all FDSA members by clicking
here. You will be asked for your member ID and
password. If you have forgotten it, please contact the office

PUBLISHES NEW BROCHURE - 7/07
Included with the
May-June 2007 Newsletter was a brochure entitled "Public Aid
Provisions for Pre-Arranged, Pre-Financed Funeral Plans".
It explains in some detail the recent substantial modifications made
by IDPA
in the regulations regarding prepaid funeral/burial plans. It
was prepared specifically for FDSA members to use with their
clients. FDSA members can click
